YENISEJ CRUISE
MOSCOW – DUDINKA – The Yenisej River Cruise – KRASNOYARSK – NOVOSIBIRSK – MOSCOW
Day 1: Moscow Arrival in Moscow. Transfer to the hotel for check-in and dinner
Day 2: Moscow Breakfast in the hotel. Guided sightseeing tour during which you will see among other sights, St Basil's Cathedral, Novodevichy Convent, and the spectacular view of the city from Moscow University. Lunch independent. Guided tour of the Kremlin grounds where you will see the famous cathedrals of the Assumption, Archangel and Annunciation, Ivan the Great Bell Tower as well as the Tsar Bell and Tsar Cannon. Dinner in a local restaurant. Transfer to the airport. 23:05 Flight S7 2251 to Norilsk.
Day 3: Norilsk. Dudinka. 07:20 Arrival in Norilsk airport. Guide-assisted transfer to Dudinka, an important river port located beyond the Polar Circle in the permafrost. The coach will take you to the Regional Studies Museum and Local Arts and Crafts Centre of the aboriginal tribes of the North, where you will see objects made of mouse horns, mammoth tusks, bugle embroidery, local clothes, cult objects of paganism and shamanism.
11:30 Embarkation. The Yenisej flows from the south to the north like a meridian, hence it’s known as Yenisej meridian. The Yenisej is the most powerful river in Russia. Many of its tributaries are bigger than major European rivers, e.g. the Angara.
12:00 noon Set sail. Lunch on board. Meet the crew. Dinner on board.
Day 4: Igarka. Turukhansk. Breakfast. The ship will stop for 15 minutes in the port of Igarka, located in the permafrost, beyond the Polar Circle. The average annual temperature is -10.5 C. In June and July it enjoys the famous White Nights.
Lunch on board. Gradually the landscape changes from the taiga to the tundra.
Arrival at Turukhansk. During the stop you will have a 40-minute walking tour of the streets nearest to the pier where you will see traditional Northern houses. Turukhansk was founded in 1660 as the Trinity Monastery. It is situated in the area of unique microclimate where you will see all the diversity of Siberian taiga (tundra in the north and forest tundra in the south). The area is populated by Russians, including Old-Believers, and local ethnic groups. For centuries it was the place of exile for criminals and revolutionaries, including Decembrists in the 19th century, Stalin and Sverdlov in the 20th century.

Day 5: Bakhta Whole day at sail. Ca. 17:00 We will stop for 20-30 minutes at Bakhta, a fishermen’s settlement.
Day 6: Vorogovo. Yartsevo. Vorogovo is the only Cossack village on the Yenisej, founded more than 350 years ago when the Cossacks, headed by Yermak, were conquering Siberia fighting with the local nomadic tribes. The population today is 2000 people. It is located in a very picturesque area where the Yenisej is 3 km wide. You will have a 20-30 minute stop to visit the local market near the pier where you can buy local fish, mushrooms and berries.
After the lunch we will stop for 20 minutes at the village of Yartsevo.
Day 7: Yenisejsk Ca. 10:00 We will stop for 20 minutes at Yenisejsk, the father of Siberian towns, founded in 1629, where many Decembrists were exiled to. During the stop you will be able to walk near the pier. It is located on the trades way from Western to Eastern Siberia. When in the 18th century a new Moscow road was built south of Yenisejsk, the city lost its importance and they started using it as an exile place. The city boasts 94 architectural monuments, built of wood and stone and retaining their original appearance.
Lunch and dinner on board.
Day 8: Krasnoyarsk. Breakfast, whole day at sail, Lunch and dinner on board.
20.00 Arrival in Krasnoyarsk. Disembarkation. Transfer to the hotel, check-in.
Day 9: Krasnoyarsk. Breakfast in the hotel. Guided sightseeing tour. Krasnoyarsk is the economic and cultural centre of Eastern Siberia, located on both banks of the Yenisej. Its population is 950000 people. It was founded by Cossacks in 1628 as a fortress.
Lunch. Excursion to the “Stolby” National Reserve. Here in the middle of taiga you will see over a hundred granite cliffs which have acquired peculiar shapes within the millions of years. Thus some of them have their own names, such as Old Man, Great Golden Eagle, Feathers, etc.
Transfer to the railway station.
18.26 Train leaves for Novosibirsk. Dinner on board independent
Day 10: Novosibirsk 06.35 Arrival at Novosibirsk. Transfer to the hotel for breakfast. Sightseeing tour of Novosibirsk, during which you will see the famous Opera House, the largest in Europe, and an imposing statue of Lenin as well as traditional Soviet-period architecture. Lunch independent. Dinner in the hotel.
Day 11: Novosibirsk. Moscow Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to the airport.

11.50 Arrive in Moscow. Transfer to the hotel for check-in. Full day at leisure. Dinner in the hotel.
Day 12: Moscow Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to the airport.
