10 days/9 nights

 

Day 1 Moscow

Arrive in Moscow. Transfer to the National or similar hotel. Dinner in the hotel.

Day 2 Moscow

Breakfast in the hotel. Sightseeing tour during which you will see you will see Red Square, St Basil's Cathedral, Novodevichy Convent, and visit the Kremlin with its famous cathedrals, Tsar Bell and Tsar Cannon. Transfer to the Kazan railway station.

7.00 pm Board the train. Dinner on board.

Day 3 Kazan

City tour of Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan Republic, located on the Volga River. The tour includes a visit to the Kremlin, where you will see the stunning Qol Sarif Mosque and the magnificent Russian Orthodox cathedrals.

Day 4 Yekaterinburg

Founded in 1723, Yekaterinburg is the third largest city in Russia and the capital of the Urals. You will visit the site where Nicholas II, the last Russian tsar, and his family were executed by the Bolsheviks in 1918.

We will cross the Europe/Asia divide after we leave Yekaterinburg.

Day 5 Novosibirsk

During our city tour you will see the famous Opera House, the largest in Europe, and an imposing statue of Lenin as well as traditional Soviet-period architecture.

Day 6 On board

You will spend the whole day on board the train, enjoying the beautiful landscape outside.

Day 7 Irkutsk

Our tour will include a visit to the Museum of wooden architecture and the Decembrist House Museum, dedicated to exiled aristocrats, the organisers of the first revolt against the Russian monarchy in 1825.

Day 8 Lake Baikal

Lake Baikal is the deepest lake in the world, holding 20% of the world’s fresh water. You will admire the beauty and grandeur of the Lake. 

Day 9 Ulan Ude

Ulan Ude is the capital of the Buryat Republic. You will visit the Old Believers’ village, where you will treated to a traditional meal and enjoy a concert of local dance and music.

Day 10 Ulaan Baator

Ulaan Baator is the capital of Mongolia, home of Genghis Khan, the most feared and revered Mongol. You will visit the Winter and the Summer Palace of Boghdykhan and the main Buddhist Temple in the monastery of Ghandhan. Transfer to the hotel.

Day 11 Ulaan Baator

Transfer to the airport
