I LOVE YOU, PETER'S GREAT CREATION... Alexandre Pushkin 7 days
Our seven-day tour gives you a deep insight into the history and present day life of St.Petersburg, one of the world’s most beautiful cities famous for its picturesque settings and impressive architecture. The city’s over 300-year’s history will reveal itself through historical monuments representing the prominent epochs of Peter the Great, Elisabeth I, Catherine the Great, the tragic time of Nicholas II and the 1917 Revolution, the heroic defence of the city during World War II. You will also have an opportunity to get an insight into the contemporary life of the city and its people.
DAY 1 – Welcome to the Imperial capital of Russia Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
DAY 2 – Where the city of Peter began… Morning guided city sightseeing tour including Nevsky Prospect, the Square of Fine Arts, St.Isaac’s Square and a visit to Peter and Paul Fortress, the birthplace of St.Petersburg. Afternoon guided tour of Menshikov Palace, the first stone building of St.Petersburg. 
DAY 3 – Who was the hermit and what are mosaics? Morning guided tour of the Hermitage, one of the world’s largest art museums. Afternoon guided tour of St.Isaac’s Cathedral and Our Saviour’s Church on the Spilt Blood, both famous for their opulent interior decoration and mosaics.
DAY 4 – Splendour and amber Morning excursion to Tsar’s Village (the town of Pushkin) with a guided visit to Catherine’s Palace where you will see the 8th wonder of the world, the Amber Room. Typical Russian lunch at the Podvorje Restaurant. Afternoon visit to the WWII Monument to the Defenders of Leningrad (this was the name of the city between 1924 and 1991) followed by a visit to a local supermarket. Optional evening ballet performance or folklore show.
DAY 5 – Rasputin!? Oh, those Russians! Morning guided tour of Yusupov Palace, one of the most elegant private palaces in Europe, where Rasputin was murdered. Afternoon at leisure for independent sightseeing and shopping. Dinner with a Russian family.
DAY 6 – Water Empire: fountains and canals Morning excursion to Peterhof with a guided tour the Royal Bath House and Kitchen and the Lower Park. Afternoon visit to a farmers’ market followed by a boat ride along rivers and canals (available May-September). Optional evening ballet performance or folklore show.
DAY 7 – See you again… Transfer to the airport
