ST.PETERSBURG OVERTURE

Our five-day tour presents an introduction to St.Petersburg, one of the world’s most beautiful cities famous for its picturesque settings and impressive architecture. Founded in 1703 as the “window on the West” by Peter the Great, St.Petersburg was the capital of the Russian Empire for over two centuries. Built on 42 islands linked by over 350 bridges, St.Petersburg is affectionately called the “Venice of the North”. The cultural capital of Russia has over 100 various museums, and during this short tour you will be able to see its highlights: the State Hermitage Museum and Peterhof, the former official summer residence of the Russian Tsars. DAY 1 Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
DAY 2 Morning guided city sightseeing tour including Nevsky Prospect, the Square of Fine Arts, Peter and Paul Fortress, St.Isaac’s Square and other famous sights. Afternoon at leisure to explore the city on your own.
DAY 3 Morning guided tour of the Hermitage, one the world’s largest art museums. Optional evening ballet performance or folklore show.
DAY 4 Morning excursion to Peterhof with a guided tour the Grand Palace and the Lower Park. Afternoon at leisure for independent sightseeing and shopping. Farewell dinner in a local restaurant.
