FINE AND APPLIED ARTS OF RUSSIA

DAY 1  Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and overnight 

DAY 2  Morning guided city sightseeing tour including Nevsky Prospect, the Square of Fine Arts, St.Isaac’s Square and a visit to St.Isaac’s Cathedral and the Church on the Spilled Blood. Lunch independent. Afternoon at leisure to explore the city on your own. 

DAY 3 Morning guided tour of the Hermitage museum, one the world’s largest art museums.Lunch independent. Afternoon visit to the Museum of St.Petersburg Applied Art Academy. Dinner at an artist's. 

DAY 4 Morning excursion to Tsar’s Village (the town of Pushkin) with a guided visit to Catherine’s Palace where you will see the 8^th wonder of the world, the Amber Room. Lunch in the Podvorije Restaurant with Matryoshka painting class. Afternoon visit to the studio of Vladimir Vereschagin, contemporary artist, specializing in etchings, whose works you can find in Smithsonian collections (it maybe another artist depending on Vereschagin’s schedule)  

DAY 5 Morning visit to the State Russian Museum. Lunch independent.

Afternoon excursion to Penaty with a visit to Ilya Repin Museum-Dacha 

DAY 6 Morning tour of Alexander Nevsky Lavra, where famous Russian artists are buried, followed by a visit to icon-painting workshops.

Lunch independent. Afternoon visit to Lomonosov Porcelain factory to meet the artisits. Farewell dinner.

Transfer to the airport     ~
