MOSCOW – NOVGOROD THE GREAT – ST.PETERSBURG

8 days

 

Day 1 MOSCOW

Upon arrival at Moscow, you will be transferred to the hotel for check in and dinner. Russia's administrative and political capital, Moscow is a wonderful blend of old and new, rich in history and yet vibrant and full of life. Its great landmarks, St Basil's Cathedral and the Kremlin, are still powerful symbols of all things Russian.

 

Day 2  MOSCOW

You will start this day with a guided city tour, during which you will see, among other sights, St Basil's Cathedral, Novodevichy Convent, and the spectacular view of the city from Moscow State University. The afternoon rehearsal will be followed by an evening concert.

 

Day 3 MOSCOW

In the morning you will have a guided walking tour of the Kremlin grounds, during which you will see the famous Tsar Cannon and Tsar Bell and the interior of one of the cathedrals. After dinner in a local restaurant, you will take an evening train to Novgorod the Great.

 

Day 4 NOVGOROD THE GREAT

Upon early morning arrival in Novgorod the Great, you will be transferred to your hotel. With a history of eleven centuries, Novgorod is perhaps the Russian city richest in native art treasures and monuments. You will have a guided sightseeing tour, including entrance to the Kremlin where you will see the Cathedral of St.Sofia, one of the finest examples of early Russian architecture. Dinner will be served in the hotel.

 

Day 5 NOVGOROD THE GREAT

You will begin this day with an excursion to St.George’s Monastery and Museum of Wooden Architecture with a display of old timber buildings from the Novgorod region. This day you will have an afternoon rehearsal followed by an evening concert. Dinner will be served in a local restaurant.

 

Day 6 ST PETERSBURG

After breakfast you will depart by coach for St Petersburg (ca. 4 St.Peter's Cathedralhours). Upon arrival you will enjoy a guided city tour, during which you will see the main landmarks of St.Petersburg, such as Peter and Paul Fortress, St Isaac's Cathedral, Palace Square and Nevsky Prospekt. After the tour you will be taken to your hotel for check in.

 

Day 7 ST PETERSBURG

In the morning you will have a guided tour of the Hermitage Museum, the Tsars' former winter palace, which houses perhaps the most fabulous collection of painting and applied arts in the world. After the afternoon rehearsal you will have an evening concert followed by farewell dinner in a local restaurant.

 

Day 8 ST PETERSBURG

Transfer to the airport.
